Almost a reef. From Mendoza, Argentina

Hello everybody!!! How are you??
I'm Agustin and i'm wrinting you from argentina. I wanted to introduce you my reef tank, at the moment is fish only but i'm hoping to put some corals soon.
It's a custom built and the system holds 149.79 gallons (567 liters). The display tank (375L-->100g) is illuminated by two 150W HQI, the bulbs are Ushio's double ended 14000K, and four 40W actinic tubes.
I'm stocking 42kg or 92.60lb of live rock and sugar sized aragonite sand.

Hola argentino, aqui un mexicano con el mismo hobby que tu, tu pecera esta increible, cuanto tiempo tienes con ella?, lo unico que le hace falta es ponerle corales, vas empezar con corales suaves y lps o te vas a aventar con los sps???, lo unico que te recomiendo con mi poca experiencia es de que antes de poner corales leas mucho sobre de ellos, sus necesidades, posibles parasitos que traigan en ellos, guerras quimicas, si son venenosos (zoas), flujos de agua, si son fotosinteticos o no, mantener calcio y alkalinidad, tengo poco en el hobby y creeme que me ha servido mucho haber investigado, hasta ahora tengo como 26 diferentes corales sps, 5 lps y un montos de suaves, bueno te deseo suerte y aqui estamos para platicar de este hobby que se hace vicio, chiao

Gracias sana!!! en cuanto al tiempo que llevo con el acuario es mas menos 2 años. Pero han sido dos años de permanentes modificaciones. Esta ultima disposicion está hace muy poco. Espero colocar corales pronto, pienso empezar con blandos primero para ir subiendo la escala de dificultad

Argentino, es facil encontrar corales por alla???, aqui en mexico estan vetados y no se venden, yo tengo que ir a los estados unidos y comprarlos alla, tienen una variedad increible, ademas hay una infinidad de personas en el hobby que te intercambian o venden frags mucho mas barato que comprarlos en tiendas....tiendo a hablar demasiado perdon, hahaha

A purple tang, previously housed in a 55 gallon for 4 years, now with a little more room in the 90. I have had him for a total of 5 years now.

I didnt know that. Is it just certain kinds of coral (like stony stuff) or everything?

Here in argentina we can get corals without problems. The inconvenient is that corals are hardly as colored as they are sold in other countries. Also the price goes up and up, sometimes too much... It's a petty... those are the rules in my dear country

Buenos tardes! I like your tank... I also like your Mendozan wines, particularly malbec I've been through Mendoza once, 6 years ago or so. Beautiful scenery. Would love to go back to Argentina, I had a fantastic time there.

hormigaqauatica......Yes corals in mexico are prohibited, so my only way to adquire them is either to go to the states and buy them or thru frag swaps with fellow reefers..

Todo esta echo re-bien, tu sump esta limpio, con todo el equipment organizado, y tambien me gusta la forma de tus piedras dentro tu tanque.

Que lastima con los problemas de obtenar corales ahi, no sabia que las reglas fueron asi. Te vas a llenar el tanque con corales fuertes (SPS o LPS), con corales como leathers, mushrooms, zoos, o mezclados?

Que tipo de controller usas? No pudo ver el nombre sobre los electronicos

What a shame with the problems to get corals over there, I didn't know the rules were like that. Are you going to fill your tank with hard corals (SPS or LPS), with corals like leathers, mushrooms, zoos, or mix them?

What type of controller do you use? I couldn't see amoungst the electronics
