Nothing but rain here in Pueblo for at least the past 2 hours. You guys up north be careful out there!! :)

I had a sezire(bad spelling)about a month ago.Now i can not drive for 6 months ;bad for truck driver;and i am waiting for my dissabilaty to kick in from work and waiting for the doc. to call for more tests to run.But am getting good reading time on RC!!!!I can not be by myself,no cooking also. This is the first time this has happen to me(I am 38).They also told me at work that if I am not able to drive in three months i am fired can they do that?Well i am home today but really enjoy reading on RC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last report on the news that Hwy24 has zero visiblity. Im not even gonna attempt it. My wife braved it and went to Safeway to get some supplies just in case. Took her an hour to get there. We are talking 5 miles of driving!

When I was pulling upto the top of the Hill near Powers and Barnes, it was almost 0 viz, that was at 530, before the wind really kicked in.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this board but thought I would say hello here since I'm home like everyone else should be. All the schools are closed and I'm home with the family and reading Reef Central while my connection is still up.

We're 7 miles north of Falcon in the forest--7,400 feet. We have a foot already at 7:30 and they say it won't really kick in til later this morning? Good thing we have a wood stove for when the power goes out.
Hey Russ, wanna come over and shoot wires this morning???

Welcome Rockhoppers!!! Are you a member of the Rockhoppers 4x4 club?

One of the guys I work with came back to Peterson because Powers and S. Carefree is a parking lot. Peeps cant make it up the hill at Powers and Barnes.

There's alot of factors that play into that, you would have to check you states labor laws. Somthing that go into play in Colorado are how long have you worked there, are you able to work at all and so on...

I'm not attempting Pueblo today, may attempt the store good day to do maintenance. Being from Wisconsin it never ceases to amaze me how unprepared CS is for this type of weather.

Spent 4 years at Ft Drum, NY, 220" of snow my first winter up there. You learn real fast how to drive in it. They don't cancel school often up there.

I grew up in SW Michigan. Nothing like lake effect snow. As long as the snow isn't so deep that it stops the car, I'm fine. It's all of the southern state drivers that make me stay off the roads. They either drive way too slow, or just fast enough to be dangerous (until they get stuck a few times). Maybe crazier are the occassional 4x4 nuts who drive 65 on icy roads. I see more of those off the roads and wrapped around the trees up here than cars. Must be a false sense of security they give.

Something unique up here is the ice that usually forms on the roads under the snow up on the Palmer Divide (I'm on the eastern end). The plows don't make it up here until well after the cars and 4x4s pack and polish it.

I've learned to just sit it out by the fire until they make it down our road. Well, until the power goes out (an inevitibility today), the kids and I can play computer games and watch TV together before heading out to play in the snow. I figure I'll be stuck here tomorrow too.

So did you see how nice the weekend is supposed to be? LOL

Russ, I know someone who used to live out by you in 97. He said he had to go out in his snowmobile and rescue a friend 1/2 mile away who was stuck in his car.

I wish the coral order was delivered yesterday it would be nice to look at. I'll just brouse corals on the net today till the power goes out, then I'll fire up the gennie and plug in the pond and reef, then if we have enough cords maybe the microwave and a light or 2.
Times like this I wish I had the autotransfer switch with a nice natural gas gennie, would be a real nice peace of mind.
Chris

I agree I grew up in Port Huron and surrounding areas in Michigan and spent alot of time in Canada,Use to love it when the plowed the roads and the drifts they made were so deep you could not even see some of the roofs on peoples houses.sometime miss it then again I had no real obligations to be anywere. But I am at work, no snow to report yet..
