Alternate to an actual anenome that clowns may host?

Other than an anenome is it possible a pair of clowns will be attracted to a long tenticle plate coral or Frogspawn. Don't want an anenome in a small tank (20 long) that will wander around.

Thank for any advice/recommendations

My pair of tomato clowns hosted in xenia and after I accidentally killed off my xenia they took to my leather coral.

my false perc clowns love to host in a hairy mushroom coral. $20 for a single polyp that is about the size of a hockey puck. much cheaper and easier to care for than an anemone.

It does happen Frank but I would not always bet on it. One thing I would tell you is to be patient. My clowns didn't host in them until they had been in the tank a while.

mine took about a year to host in my hammer. Like everyone will say, it takes time, some a day, some years.

My maroon has hosted in just about every coral in my tank and killed them all except the hairy mushrooms. She can't seem to kill them. Unfortunately for me. :D

I bought a fake anemone that looks more like thin strings than like an anemone. My tomato took to it after about 1 week, and has hosted it for months now. It feeds it, cleans it, and sleeps in it every night.

Mine hosted the pump for my skimmer for about 4 months. I felt sorry for them when I put a sump in and moved it there so I now keep them in the sump……..just kidding.

I have had my clowns for 7 months now and they just started hosting in my frogspawn last night.

If you have percs or clarkii, they're safe hosting in corals. A maroon is too rough, ime. A toadstool leather is good and stands up well.
