Alternatives to a Float Valve

Thanks guys... but does'nt the rate of evaporation change depending on temp, RH and water agitation. I guess you would be having to make minor adjustments on a regular basisi in order not to "slowly" increase or decrease your salinity.

BJJ,

I've had the Nautilus II running for about a month now. It is very easy to adjust the dosing rate. I haven't had to readjust it now for the past 2 weeks. But yes, it will have to be changed as the seasons change.

Don't worry about that very slight change in salinity. Mine is set to dose an entire days worth of kalk/top-off over a 16 hour period. So my salinity is slightly up and down every day. I asked RHF about the salinity issue and he responded that it was basically, insignificant.

I used to change my LMIII about 3 times a year, but very minor adjustment. I ended up buying the top off control module, and now the pump will shut off if it ever gets to the top. So I set the pump just at slightly more than is needed, so after about 12 weeks it will have a little more than needed (about .3 gallons out of a 350g system). After it reaches that point, it will shut off the pump before it finishes dosing. Been running like that now for about 1 year.

Rick S,

I am looking at the Nautilus II also since it can dose up to 4.5 gpd. How do you like the unit, and have you had any problems with it. Are the alarms disabled also?

Thanks,

Mike

BJJ,

check out the tunze osmolator, uses "eye" sensor, and a top back up float valve, very reliable.

and also ph controller reverse form is good safety too, for the kalk

cmhollis,

So far, so good. All that stuff is disabled. It has worked very well. If you have any particular questions, ask away.
