Alternatives to interceptor as an in tank red bug exterminator?

So I found out why my GARF bonzai frag started browning in addition to a red planet frag that lost color that I attributed to a tumble face down in the sand about 2 weeks ago (it is booger sized so I did not notice it gone).

I pulled both of these and gave them a strong iodine bath and that cleared out the colony crawling around on them but I have a number of acros that can not be pulled from the tank. PE is looking much better on both now.

Has anybody experimented with anything on the following page http://www.drugs.com/international/milbemycin-oxime.html or have an alternative to Milbemycin Oxime? (Or a source of the original they can PM me about?)

is this an acceptable alternative? Anyone have dosing instructions for in tank? http://www.drgsmarineaquaculture.com/sps-lps-coral-dip-solution.cfm

current coral stock is: (any other coral interactions?)

Red sea Xenia
GSP
Toadstool
assorted zoanthids/palyotha
florida ricks and other shrooms.

acan lord colony
euphilla - frogspawn and hammer
duncan
calustrea, trumpet
Pectinia

various montipora, acropora, stylophora, and birdsnest the sps side.

I know inverts have to be pulled, they can hang out in my 10 gallon qt for a while.

Thank you for any input you can give.

I used Milbemax for cats

Thanks, I see they are (for a 2-8kg Pill) 16mg milbemycin oxime.

What is the dosage you used?

I estimate my total water volume at ~80 Gallons (90 gallon DT 2 inch-ish sand bed and ~60 LBS dry pukani plus 20 gallons actual running volume in sump)

I have used beef flavor interceptor for large breed dogs on so many systems I have loast count, it sucks you wipe out the pod population but I personally never witnessed any problems with any of the treatments I have done.

Its nothing like treating for flatworms, which can lead to serious issues.

If someone would do a sanity check on the following it would be appreciated:

1/2 pill should work, please check my work below.

Standard dosage for the original interceptor is:
25 MG of ground pill per 10 gallons (80 gallons TV = 200 Mg dosage)

the tab weighs one gram so (total weight/active weight) 1000/23=43Mg of tablet is 1 Mg of MO(milbemycin oxime)

so 200 Mg interceptor dosage is ~4.7 Mg MO recommended dose.

The Milbemax tab is 16 Mg of MO, cut in half 8Mg

the 8Mg dose is less than 2X the recommended dose and AA states that up to 5X the dose is tolerated well.

Am I good with half a pill?

According to Dorton, 1 Interceptor™ tablet (intended for large dogs weighing 51-100 pounds) weighs one gram and contains 23 milligrams of milbemycin oxime. One tablet is ground to powder and 25 milligrams is added to a small container of aquarium water and mixed (this might take quite a bit of stirring). This water containing 25 mg of the tablet is sufficient to treat 10 gallons of actual water volume in the aquarium ... * Dosage is apparently not as critical as suggested by Dorton, as time has confirmed that higher concentrations (5x or more than that recommended by Dorton) of milbemycin oxime does little, if any, harm to corals.

Thank you.

yup , that's the stuff

I forget the dosage I did, think it was one tablet in 150g, but can't be sure, my memory is the thing I miss the most.

I know I wasn't too concerned with an overdose, I have had redbugs in the past and never had any problems other than the typical death of hermits, shimp and pods. You can even start with a lower dose and watch the effects on the redbugs. May take a while but once they start falling off the acro the dose is good.
