Am I being ripped off?

Ive been searching for a crosshatch trigger for a while with no luck when i ventured to a store thats not my local store and found a lovely pair of blue throats,a male and female going together for 128 pounds. I think thats about 240 dollars. Seems quite high, or am I wrong?

I would say so. They go for less than $100 dollars at the high-price LFS I sometimes visit here.

a crosshatch trigger pair, on marinecenter.com costs $900.00 so, but i dont know about the bluethroat or bluejaw probably

If you are willing to pay it, then it's not out of line. Prices vary to location and the availability of the store selling them.

Yeah, I'm not sure anyone can compare prices of fish in the states with England. Perhaps someone from that side of the pond can chime in....

I've seen pairs up here in Scotland/North of England for about the £100 mark (my old 6" female blue throat was £45 on her own). Suppose it depends on size of the fish as well. If in good condition and a good size I don't think its a particularly bad deal, a little overpriced imo but not by much.

The are lovely fish. Go on...you know you want them ;)

128 pounds is about $170. Sounds about right for a PAIR of them. But like others have said, not sure if there is a premium or disount on fish in England.

I think that is a pretty reasonable price for a pair of them if they have some decent size to them. I am sure that the fish Market and pricing is different because of differences in distances and logistics of getting some fish.

251 dollars = 128 pounds. Does this seem any different now. I'm just wondering because this is a big chain and some of their prices seem very high.

I paid $80 for a pair on sale here locally. My male is about 6 inches and the female is 3.5 to 4 inches. They get along fine, but how do know if they are "mated"?

As my mother in law would say "its a jar of peanut butter". Meaning in the grocery store I will buy only name brand items in things I really like...such as peanut butter, and mayo,...but will coupon other items. So how bad do you want them? Its a jar of peanut butter.....Tina
