I recently purchased a "Babies breath" favia from Naz42 and shortly there after I noticed that it did not look like a babies breath favia. Knowing that favias change colors pretty readily I initially thought that it might not be colored up or something. I then read up on the babies breath and found that it is known for keeping it's color in very low lighting. This made me worry a little, so I contaced Naz42 to see who he had gotten it from. He replied "I think photobret". So I contacted Photobret and he said that it was NOT a babies breath favia, that it was actually called a "Pixie Dust" favia. When I relayed this to Naz42 he simply replied "Pretty sure he told me babys breath either way its sweet"... Ok... So... am I wrong in thinking that I got ripped off here? Although it is just a name, the coral was clearly misrepresented (intentionally or not). I replied to Naz42 expressing my dissapointment in the fact that it was really not what he said it was and he replied with a very nasty PM calling me all sorts of names that I can't say here. This was SHOCKING! I have dealt with him several times in the past and considered him one of my buddies here on RC, but man did I see his TRUE COLORS! I was SERIOUSLY appalled at the response as well as the follow up response continuing to call me names and telling me to "stop crying" and so on... :eek1: I am just so shocked and confused I needed to post to get an outside perspective.
Am I wrong here? Is it buyer beware and get a friggin DNA test on all coral to make sure it is what the buyer says it is? And this is somebody I thought I knew and could trust! I am not saying he did it intentionally, although I have my suspicions since I have a thread where photobret CLEARLY states that the one he gave him was the "pixie dust" and all he said was "That was 6 months ago, you think I remember the name of every coral I have?" Um... YEAH! Especially if it was a babies breath favia! The babies breath is not your run of the mill LFS favia frag that most likely doesn't have a name. It has a name because it is a collector coral and you would know if it was or not.
This seriously bothered me so much that I took time out of all the stuff I have going on right now just to write this. I really just needed to vent and get an outside perspective on this...
