Everyone -
I just wanted to give a huge thumbs up to Reef Central, and the people who give their time and effort to this website.
What an incredible community Reef Central has become! Just to give you a little info about me, I have been a FOWLR guy since 1997, and I registered here I think in either 1999, 2000, or 2001 (can't really remember), as I was a total marine newbie bumbling along and had an ich outbreak (no quarantine of course) looking for help. I registered, saw what was here, and never really kept up with Reef Central after that. From what I remember it was active, but was absolutely nothing remotely close what it is today.
Fast forward today. I have been out of the hobby for essentially 4 years, and have not visited this website in almost 15 years. Wow, what I missed in 4 years. Lighting, skimming, chemistry, knowledge, alot of things have changed in those 4 years, but what I am impressed the most with is this community, the awesome power of this website and it's moderators, and the experienced reef members of this community. Wow.
I just wanted to give a huge cheers to all the moderators and experienced reefers who give their time and their effort to help others on this website. I see these guys trying to help out the newbs with the most simple plumbing issues, cycle issues, etc, but I also see them give their time to the more advanced aquarist by using their extensive knowledge and experience in trying new things, taking time out of their busy schedules to share these experiences with others, and help us all try to get a little better at this incredibly difficult hobby. There are even experts here teaching us all chemistry lessons on ways to do tests we want to do but we don't have our personal lab to do them. WOW.
I felt compelled to go ahead and give a reef system a shot after many years of FOWLR because I came here. I am amazed how the techonology has evolved in the last 15-20 years. I feell we we can finally create and maintain an environment for the creatures we all spend great effort and time to care for.
Just wanted to thank everyone who gives so much of their time and energy to Reef Central. Well done. Anyone who feels the same needs to bump this.....
Thanks!
