Fun stuff, huh? Great first round of shots.

What is the white speckle showing? Looks like it might be a bit high on the sharpening?

yep, its a little over sharpened due the extremely bright highlights....just realized a few minutes ago I can actually submerge the whole flashlight in the water....that would have been helpful to know before I started shooting. Overall very cool new toy...Going to try stepping down the exposure comp a couple before the next shoot.

yes thats what i got, but be sure to also order the right size filter for your lens as well. without the lens filter, you wont be able to take pics of what youre seeing through the glasses.

light, glasses, and lens filter was 205 + shipping.

You have to have a filter to go over your light source in order to make light of the right frequency to make things fluoresce. You also have to have a filter for your eyes (or for your camera) to filter out _that_ light so that you can see the light the coral is producing.

Dr. Mazel, who makes the Nightsea gear, is a fantastic guy who does a lot of research on coral fluorescence. You couldn't support a nicer guy, IMO.

By the way, it's possible to take fluorescence photography with this gear with the aquarium lights on: http://forum.marinedepot.com/Topic56823-26-1.aspx. That makes it much easier to get your focus.

Fantastic shots, juniormc8704!

Using the flashlight to focus make it quite easy and using the flashlight (rather than flash) creates a great painted effect.

Terrible....I dont think they are working right so I will have to take them off your hands for you since they dont take reutrns....LOL

Seriously, they are Great!! I am looking forward to seeing more.

I've had a few people offer to take these "defective" things off my hands now:lol:

Something between nothing and less of the effect. It is *ok* under actinics, but there's just a bit too much light for the colors to pop as well.

everytime i see anyone post shots with these filters it just reminds me how much i wanna get them! Awesome shots man!
