Amendment to the Bylaws (Gender)

I propose we amend the CDMAS bylaws to remove gender-specific terms such as "Chairman".

Specifically, Article 1, Section 1 refers twice to Chairman. I propose we alter Chairman to read "Chairperson".

We need three members to state their agreement to bring this proposal in front of the the Board.

After that, this will come to a membership vote at the next General Meeting.

Seconds?

I think it's a basic change and one that can be easily done. I also think it's probably more along the lines of a typo :D So if everyone thinks this is something that needs to be voted on in order to make the chang than I second it

I think this is a good idea to vote on to change to unisex terms. It's not about liberalism or "bending" to anyone's will. It's about etiquette, politeness and simple courtesy to "share" our world at large. Again, this is just my personal opinion.

Thanks,

Well said plandy. I vote yes on changing to unisex terms.

I think we should also do the following:

1. Have the bylaws professionally printed on top quality paper.

2. Have the profesionally printed bylaws framed and protected by bulletproof lexan (or is it lucite which might be the same thing as plexiglass and acrylic????)

3. Designate a secure and sacred place to display the professionally printed and framed bylaws.

4. Hire a security staff to guard the professionally printed and framed bylaws.

While we're at it, we should probably prohibit alcohol from being served at meetings to avoid offending alchoholics and non drinkers as well as eliminating meat from being served so that we don't offend vegetarians and vegans.

To make sure all of this happens, we should implement a 57th council seat entitled "Anti Fun Officer".

All those in favor, say I.

What holds your interest with Finland? Is that where your ancestory hails from? Have you been there?
