Amiracle Tanks Good or Bad?

Hi everyone

I'm new to the forum. I used to have 60 gal reef tank. I had to disassemble it because of a move. I'm finally putting down roots and want to get back into the hobby / obsession.
Someone in the area is selling a Amiracle 110 Gal acrylic tank for $200. I never heard of the company so I thought I would throw the name out to you folks an see if anyone has heard of it.

I guess if nothing else it would make a good tank for filtration.

Thanks for the thoughts

[welcome]

they have a very good name and rep--that's what my tank is and it has been great
with tanks you should find out if they can be drilled or not--a phone call to the manufacturer is all you need to do

Thanks for all the posts. I'm on the fence about getting it.
The tank is 110gal and is 52 x 21 x 18. The price I believe is right at $200 but I don't know if I should hold off for something with a little more depth that might be better for a reef.
Is this too good of a deal to pass up???

It's ok as far as price. the good thing about reef keeping (or bad depending on how you look at it) is someone is always looking to get out, downsize, or go bigger. There are good deals out there if you wanna be patient.

Amiracle has a good reputation. Although, I think most of us know them for their sumps. Looks like Capn is a big fan and he's always dead on with his advice, so personally, I'd trust his endorsement whole heartedly. That said, used is used and any tank is only as good as it's previous owner treated it.

How's that for a non-committal response! Seriously though, it's up to you and what you're looking to do, and your gut reaction.

I went with a high tank--I would have preferred the longer tank to add swimming room for tangs
Plus everytime I do maintance i have to use a small step ladder to reach down to the bottom

I would expect this tank to have been drilled and have an internal overflow--if not I would find out from Miracles if the tank can be drilled
