Ammonia .10 ppm Normal

Everytime I check my Ammonia it give around .10. Is not it normal? I never get 0. I have seen lots of people posted 0 ppm.

Now my silly question is if a tank has always 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite and 0 Nitrate then what are the live bacterias are actually doing?

Should I get exact 0 Ammonia in my tank? or 0.10-0.15 ppm is also fine.

That's not normal. You should not be getting any ammonia if your tank is cycled because it would convert the ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrates.

It's not normal, but I'm with fishmommy...I think I would try another test. How long has your tank been running?

Did you use Prime or any other water conditioner like it? I have seen Prime give false readings with certain Ammonia test kits because of how they measure ammonia.

My tank is around 2 months running, its 28 gal with 10 gal sump. Have two black-ice snow flake a purple gobby and a midas blenny. Fishes are doing well have not seen any sign. I have two corals 1 sunset monty that is also fine I check the polyps open and close timely manner. Only problem I see is the new frogspawn I have added not opening. Could be other reasons as frogspawn is very sensitive coral, that I know....

Thanks...

Any ammonia can be lethal to the fish, if not the corals. Something is highly wonky with that test.

Now I am pretty sure that my tank has a small amount of Ammonia, Previously I was thinking that may be my test kit has problem. Today I tested the ammonia using that same kit for my RODI water and its showing zero. There is 0.10 ppm ammonia in the tank. I have not find any abnormal behavior.

What is the solution? Shall I do a 50% water change? My tank in 28gal I can easily change 15gal of water, I also have my own RODI.

Any problem in changing that much water? I can see some algae here and there as new tank syndrome. May be that will also help to reduce the phosphate.

Please suggest.....

Thanks...

Here is the front shot, to fight algae I have dimmed the lighting to 25%.

There is no way that your test kit is correct. Do you use an lfs or have someone close with another kit to check it against?
