Amount of fish in TBS tank

Hello All

Since the TB tanks generally have more non-fish critters than average, it would seem logical to conclude that you should keep less fish to keep the bio load down. What do you guys think?

i would guess the opposite actually. most of the critters in this rock are cleaner type animals. sponges and barnacles and hitch-hiker coral (i found a brain coral today) don't generate as much waste as fish. and the little crustaceans will actually eat the fish poop. i'm not an expert, but i've heard that the more biodiversity the better. i'm going to guess that you can at least put as much fish with TBS rock as with non TBS rock.

In terms of oxygen requirements for the fish, I doubt it makes much if any difference. I'm am constantly amazed by the number of fish some of the nanoreefers say they have in their tanks. They exceed what I would put in a fish only tank. But they seem to get away with it.

The bigger worry from my point of view is nutrient import in terms of feeding. That you can tell by monitoring nitrates, etc.

Good score on the brain lionbacker. Those haven't been on TBS rock for some years due to a red tide event. I am envious.

thanks noahm. i'm envious of you actually, having so many porcelain crabs. i have two, and get endless enjoyment watching them. i keep finding cool new things. all sorts of weird sponges are growing and forming cool shapes. and the big sponges are starting to branch out. i love the package.
