Amphipods & Copepods In Algae Scrubber Multiplying Like Crazy What To Do?

I've been using my two algae turf scrubbers for about two months and its really starting to work. The problem is, when I clean them, I have hundreds of Amphipods and Thousands of Copepods in the algae I am cleaning from the screen and I hate to throw them away.

So I put the algae in a bucket and I am trying to find an easy way to get a lot of the amphipods and copepods out and back into the tank.

ANY IDEAS?

Add more tank water and toss a chunk of filter pad in there. Alot should stick in pad.

Better yet, coat the filter pad or sponge with phyto. When you pull it out it should be covered.

You can try this DIY and see if it works for you! This will be interesting if they do swim and attach to it.. Was going to try this but haven’t had time!! Hey, if it works I'm sure you can sell them to the locals..lol!!

Yeah just get a sponge with there food on it and put the sponge in the sump when done

I don't know that I would worry a whole lot about it, the screen is going to continue to produce millions of baby copepods that you can't even see, many of which will wash off the screen and into the tank on a continuous basis. occasionally, I swish the screen in the tank after I swipe off any loose top layers and then call it good. But I suppose if you wanted to keep a super-fat & happy mandarin, this would be the thing to do. I have one in my tank and it is never hungry...
