Amphopod question

Ok so I know I have a decent sized Amphopod population, I definitely hope it gets a lot bigger so I can get a mandarin, I've always seen them scurrying along the sand bed and rocks but I just shined a light in the tank and was looking for a little bit and this Amphopod starts swimming like trying to go against the current and everything and the funny part is that it was swimming upside down, like legs up and body down and I've never seen them swim atleast not in my tank so my question is is this normal? Or could it be something else like not an Amphopod?

Never seen an amphipod swim unless i was shaking them out of chaeto i had taken out of the fuge. Google cirolanid isopod and make sure that's not what you saw.

I have a ton of amphipods in my tank. When I watch at night with a red lens, they swim, run, and climb all over the place. It could be something else, but it's not unusual for amphipods to swim.

There's all kinds of different little pods. Google cirolanid isopod, that's the only bad guy. If it isn't that then you're glad to have it whatever it is and this doesn't really sound like a cirolanid from you're description.

Yeah I'm 99% positive that it's an amphipod because I studied pics of an amphipod and looked at all of them in my tank and they all look the same but it was just that one that started swimming and it was really weird and kind funny, because it was swimming against the current and like I said it was upside down and then all of a sudden I guess it couldn't handle the current anymore because it just got swept away
