An "I'm gonna sound like a noob" coral question

I need some recommendations for hardy corals that do well in moderately strong lighting. I have a huge gap at the top of my tank I need to fill. I have Kessil 360s for lighting. I don't keep my parameters good enough for SpS, but Lps, softies and zoas do very well. However they do not like being up close to the lighting. Any suggestions?

Montipora is very handy. Problem is if left to grow on its own it can shadow everything under. See my tank for reference.

You need to acclimate your corals. Sart low and work your way to the top over the course of a few months. Ive got leathers, frogspawn, and kenya trees next to monti caps, staghorns, and slimers. Ive actually got some softies and lps higher than some sps.

This is all under 250w MH.

one of the light loving slower growing chalices. Any war coral or lobo; lobo's friggin love high light once used to it. I got a nice tye-dye lobo at the last swap and have been moving up about 6ish inches a month. I only really move it up when I notice it looking nice and plump with good color... or look at encrusting corals. Some places like tidal-gardens, vivid, and battle-corals list what light they come from; battle corals even lets you pick between corals grown under MH or LED so the acclamation time could be much less. Or, horn coral, cup coral, gonastaria, pecatinia, pachyyseris, or coscinarea (I like these they love light.)

I have plenty of encrusting montipora and a couple different chestrophia (meteor shower).

I know you said no sps, but green slimer or a stylophora may tolerate your water conditions up there. I would start them low and move them up though so they don't get burnt.

what about something like a neon green nepthia. The grow tall. tolerate the light no problem, add movement to the tank and can fill in a good size area.

Hydro is an underrated coral imo. Kept in the upper portion of the tank and away from others is best. Down side is its only green green. But very fuzzy and good looking when grown out.
