Wow that is sick! I wish I could build something like that. Nice job

Thanks !
With out a doubt, I can say my setup is custom!

I hope to get this sucker filled tonight. I'm 1/2 way there, but my poor RO/DI unit can't keep up. It's great for top offs, but not for getting 100 gallons at once.

how bad was it to make the sump, also how much did everything cost, how long did it take to build? I have a 120G wet/dry filter but its long and narrow couldn't get a skimmer and a pump in the section so I'm looking at doing what you did.

The sump was quite easy to make.
I have about $50 in the sump and it took 1 night to build.
My skimmer is not in the sump, but right beside it. I have a Aqua C EV-180, which is quite big. It was much easier to put it beside the sump with the gate valve over the lip of the tank flowing in. Hope that helps.

I'll have pics of everything once the water clears up tomorrow.

1st Pic

The tank is finally clearing up so I decided to take a full tank shot.

I'm lacking a HM pendant in the pic because it's over my 50 till the 110 cycles. That's a little over 100 pounds of live rock, and I'll be adding another 70 pounds of cured rock from my 50 when I transfer everyhting over.
Everything seems to be working well. The overflow and the retun seem to be working great together.

Now the fun part, letting it fully cycle.

Thanks guys !

I can't wait to see it stocked. It will have a foxface, a hippo tang, & my perc pair from my 50.
Then I want to add a school of green chromis, like 6 of them, and last but not least a real nice high-end wrase.
Were still deciding on what kind we wanted a harlequin tusk, but I just read they're not reef safe. :(

Wow! Very nice!
Look at the Labouti, Mystery and the Scott's wrasses. Gorgeous and should work nicely for you in that size tank. Chrisstie had a great pic of the Mystery wrasse she took at ORA (its in her pic thread, http://www.flickr.com/photos/christie/424100552/in/set-72157600004784105/ . It was in Dustin's private tank. Wow, his tank is unreal!!!! The Scott's and Labouti that come from Australia are more vividly colored than the others, usually, but they are all incredible! Here's my favorite reference site for corals and fish: http://www.meerwasser-lexikon.de/eng/0/0/0/index.htm . Again, great job!

We were thinking about a mystery wrase, but with a good size tank, we were thinking we could get something that would get a little larger.
I'll check out the link and look for that 'just right' wrase.
Thanks Marcye

This guy?

I was wondering what he was I figured it was some kind of wrasse.

I also hereby declare that the "Labouti" wrasse is now called "The Booty Wrasse"

Edit: I just scrolled up and realized that the tank on page 3 is the same one you've been working on. HOLY COW it looks absolutely amazing! just beautiful!

I do have one teeny tiny eensy weensy little suggestion - mind you this is coming from a female's brain so who knows... It's probably just me :) The cabinet knobs don't really "match" the whole flavor of the tank!

There's a lot of nautical specialty knobs out there and even some custom hand crafted ones in wood I think would look nice to match the trim you put on that thing.

i don't know like I said its just me but i mean, its just knobs, your whole setup looks FANTASTIC!

edit #2: I've figured it out. Tilt the knobs so they are a diamond and not a square and they'll match the same shape thats already in the trim :)
