Andrew's 125 starfire tank

LOL

"Unknown monty, possibly undata?"

Get the pun?

Anyways, your tank is success man. Good work. Imagine how beautiful it will be when the corals grow with time.

how is the pyramid butterfly in the tank. Not suppose to be reefsafe, but looks like you got a good one. I would love one of those, but makes me nervous.

It's a model citizen. I give it my full recommendation to anyone wanting to try a butterfly. They are 10 times safer than a copperband.

Guess I was in a hurry when posting pictures last night. I just noticed that the butterfly pic was broken, so... here it is:

Wow! Beautiful tank. I have to say, those are some of the nicest montis I've ever seen. Major polyp extension. I've never seen a superman that looked that good.

Thanks for your uplifting comment vessxpress1

I just got this browned out rainbow monti a few weeks ago. It was half price at one of the LFS! What a deal! It's already starting to color up.

Thanks, Did you check out coralgrowth.com?
yes i did. why are all the pics taken by melev? does he come visit from ft worth periodically?
i love the color of your superman. its just beutifull! as are all of your corals! ide love to see them in person sometime. maybe when i get a worth while tank running, we can swap some frags? ive only tried my hand at sps once before, and didnt have much success. the reasons were obvious! 10g tank packed full of everything! very low tech design. i had a small piece of monti cap. that had started to grow, but within weeks, fell from the rock work and died. i also had a small branch monti digi. that actually faired well in the 3 months that i had it.
i had also tried to see the live webcam of your tank, but for some reason i dont think it was working right? either that or i just dont know how to use it? it showed a pic of the tank, and there was something trying to load every few seconds, but nothing new ever loaded, and it kept showing the same picture...?
i cant wait to see another 10 months of progress in your tank! it will be nothing short of spectacular im sure!
by the way, do you favor any of the LFS's in the area? ive seen banners for ARC up at one of them. you dont have to say names if you dont want? pm me if your interested in talking about some of the LFS's in the area?
keep up the good work!

Heh, Marc visited once for a tank tour. I suspect he'll be back in town soon for an ARC meeting.

I just checked the webcam and it was working. It's suppose to load a new image every three seconds. The only problem is sometime the laptop running it gets bogged down and it can't always get it to the server fast enough. To see the live stream of the camera, check out http://www.awesomereef.com/stream.html

All the LFS have their strong points. I'm partial to RCA because of their location and also because their very well rounded.

You're welcome to come check out the tank anytime. Just shoot me a PM, or catch me on ARC.

i just took a peek at the web cam. it was working good this time. very cool to see he fish swimming around like that on the cam. from the angle of the camera, it looks as if you have roughly 2.5 more years before an upgrade in tank size! thats if your lucky! its probably closer to 2... ;)
