Anemone alternatives

Its gonna be a toss up Capn, I do like the LTA s but 4 years ago I had a 12inch electric green carpet which I still to this day regret selling. I have seen some gorgeous electric blue ones as well but never around my area,so I may have to buy one from the good ole USA. ( you guys in the US are soooooooooo lucky to have all those online shops).
GSM I have been picturing a blue Gigantea in that valley for somewith time now. The live rock sloping up to the ends of the tank. Question GSM, I am using 2x250watt 20K xm mh bulbs in that tank, I know that they need time to find "their spot" in the tank do you think this is enough light? With the carpet I had yrs ago I was using 2x96watt PCs and it was relatively happy, I am planning on giving it approx 12x18 inches of space to settle depending on the size I get and allowing room for it to grow.

Capn Highliner I do apologize for high jacking your thread but love the info Im getting here.

I think Im gonna like RC :)

no apologizes necessary--ditto for me;)

as far as light goes---I am running a coral fife system--only 150watt, 10000k halides and 96 watt attincis. It is a tall tank so distance from lights to substrated would be 32 inches. I have had no complaints from the rose tip and the lta hasn't called the moving van yet:smokin:

Capn, if you're googling for information, try "macrodactyla doreensis" - CSMGuy inadvertently left out the second "e."

thanks but have received more then enough information from you guys:smokin:

Fish passion as i imagine your tank in my head it seems as if the neither of the halides would be directly above the Gigantea? i think the 250w is fine but the nem would prefer being directly below the bulb, also gigantea have specific flow requirements they need lots of it and prefer random/ surge style flow.

hmmmmmmm true enough GSM guess I have been listening to my wife to long I keep telling her to stop with the designer and decorating shows its an aquarium. You simply cant put the pretty pink coral beside the bright green they will sting and harm of kill each other heheheheeh. Nevertheless the carpet can be placed off centre np, now what do I want for christmas hmmmmmmmm.
Thanks for the help guys. :)

Houston we have a problem here-----today after two weeks the long tip started to rove around and won't stay put. The foot is now all white where is was bright orange when I purchased.
Any idea what's going on?
