Anemone and Clownfish hosting issues

Hey guys,

So A few months ago I ended up getting a Rose Bubble Tip anemone in the hopes that it would host my pair of tank raised B&W Ocellaris Clowns. I am sad to say that it still hasn't happened yet but what is going on is why I am here.

I have heard that when the clownfish discover the anemone they will move in but they don't really seem interested in it. Every once in a while I will see one of them swim over to it and nuzzle it or suck on one of the tentacles, which i thought was a sign they were moving in, but after a few months of this it doesn't look promising :headwally: Any ideas on how to get them to commit to it?

Sorry to say they may never move in. Being tank raised they never saw others do it so they may not. Don’t force them or lure them, this will cause there death. But if they were coming in contact with it then that is promising they may one day move in. Just to let you know I bought my clown and anemone together he was already was hosting in the pet store, but I got them home it still took 6 months B4 he started hosting again.

Tank raised or not, the instinct is still there, they do not have to see it done.
It just usually takes longer to adapt to a non natural host nem, and the BTA is not a natural host for occs, not that they won't accept an alternative host.
Patience.
Just the fact they have shown any interest should be encouraging.

Do something to the tank to scare them (clown fish) and they will dive right in. I would not do this with carpet but BTA will not sting clown fish.

Tape a picture of an RBTA hosting some clowns to the side of the tank. (Picture facing inwards of course.)

From what I've heard it sually only takes a few days after that. So if they haven't started spending time in the RBTA after a week, you can give up on the picture method.
