anemone death

my pink BTA has now inverted itself - where its foot was now looks like it has exploded and its tentacles are hanging out of the bottom - still moving around - any hope from here.

water parameters normal - 2 400w MH lights over a 25 inch deep 185 gallon tank i think the temp may be the problem - has been spiking lately to near 90

well my finger leather doesnt look healthy - i shut down one light and that brought the temp down to 84 - have 2 fans aimed at the lights - should i add more fans or go for the chiller

chiller...with more fans you will just more evaporation which means your tank has less stability. I would definately invest in a chiller.

chillers are kind of expensive, aren't they? is your region still getting a heat wave? if so, then ya, get a chiller, if not, then I might consider getting a new heater?

A heater won't do anything to the tank except add more heat to the tank which only makes the problem worse.

I think the suggestion for a heater was meant to imply that maybe his was broken and was running when it shouldn't be :)

I agree that this was implied. As if you needed my validation.

sounds like your poor bta needs oyxgen. get the temp down and the dissolved o2 should come up.

id throw an extra airstone in and leave the lights off until you get your chiller. if you can have one overnighted and have it hooked up in a few days. other wise floating milk jugs of frozen water might help but its not a long term solution.

Is the RBTA even still alive?
