My sitter called me last night to let me know that Green BTA died last night, it was upside down in the sand. He already took it out. He is confident it was yesterday because the day before he saw the anemone on the glass. The problem is that I am out of town at the moment, I will get back tomorrow afternoon. Can I wait until tomorrow to do water changes and put carbon ? or what should I have my friend do something in the meantime? Please let me know!!! Thanks in advance for your comments

How did it die?

I had mine go through a powerhead and it still survived. It literally only had a couple of tentacles. I added some iodide over the next few days and saw great improvements over a weeks time.

Not sure, my friend took it out and place it in a bucket and the mouth was white and it was open, so it sucks. But now I am worry about my other tank inhabitants...

IMO, you should be fine waiting until you comeback, unless the rest of your tank is going downhill. However, there are always a lot of variables, why did the gbta die in the first place? When was the last time you did a water change? Is your friend able to test your tank water to see whats going on? Would your friend be able to do a correct water change?

No he does not know how to do a water change. Last water change was 2 weeks ago and my parameters were right before I left. He is going again today to check if the tank is doing well...

The anemone was doing well, he gave it a silverside last wednesday, so it was eating well. Anyway thanks for the fast response, I will make a water change and put carbon tomorrow as soon as I get there...

Is he sure it was dead to begin with? It could have been just moving around and the mouth coul dhave been open if it was just expelling waste.

Since it didn't fall apart in your tank, IMO you should be ok without a WC.

I agree it probably isn't dead. May be dying or just doing what anems sometimes do.
