Anemone dominated tank!

I know everyone thinks I'm crazy and that I will not have good success but so far my 65gal tank is home to 14 healthy anemones, including:

1 - large Green BTA
1 - med RBTA
4 - BTA (originally one but splits every month or so)
1 - large Yellow/Green Haddoni carpet
1 - large Green Haddoni carpet
1 - large Bright white Sebae anemone (had it for 2yrs - not dyed)
1 - large Grey w/purple tips Sebae anemone
1 - xlg LTA with green tint in the tentacles
1 - med LTA with green tint in base around mouth
1 - large Rock anemone
1 - xlg Green LTA

I feed them a mix of fresh shrimp and squid soaked in selcon and vitamins every other day. They're all happy and fully extended and not wandering at all.

I have 2 Sebae clowns that just love it. They go in all of them except the rock anemone and when it comes time for sleeping they can't decide so the female lays across both carpets half on each. The male seems to like the two xlg LTAs so he sleeps for a few hours in one then in the morning I find him sleeping in the other one.

I will try to get some good pics as soon as I find where my 2yr old son hid my camera!

I have an LTA & a BTA. But Wow what a collection you have! I wonder if there is a chance that yours will start eating each other. Can't wait to see some pics.

Here they are:

not to be rude but i think you have clarkii clowns in the pic.. very nice anemone tank though..

I bought them as Sebae clowns. I know Sebaes and Clarkiis are almost identical so if you can tell the difference please let me know what to look for. I tried to find pics of clarkiis and sebaes to compare but they looked too identical for me.

For lighting I have dual 250MH 15k with 2-T5 actinics. The flow I have now is getting re-done within the next week or two but I'm sticking with the Seio 620s and a Reefkeeper for a wavemaker.

About 5 or 6 months ago when I came home from work one day and told my wife I was selling my corals and doing an anemone dominated tank. I just go the RBTA last night.

very nice. any dominance problems between all them? which do u consider most hardy, least hardy, biggest PITA??? do they move or stay put?

beautiful tank! I am also loading up my tanks with multiple species of anemones. They seem to be the only thing besides mushrooms that I have good success with.

Here is a pic of a true sebae clown- yours are definitely clarkiis. A. sebae always has a yellow tail. The body can have yellow along the belly as in this pic, or be all black with the 2 white stripes. Also, the midbody bar slopes back, as it does in saddleback clowns- not vertical as in clarkii.

great tank, however it appears your clowns are clarkii not seabae. You may want to look at some pics and check your id again. Looks like a black clarki and a regular clarkii.

Thanks for the ID guys. Either way they're still good clowns!

DMK - I don't have any problems as far as dominance but I do find that LTAs and BTAs are definately the hardiest and the easiest to keep. The BTAs and RBTAs like hanging from rockwork and the LTAs pretty much stay put. The Carpets are pains because they take the longest to settle down in a suitable place. When I place them in the tank I dig a hole in the substrate and gently drop their foot in the hole and fill in around it. Most of them just attach to the bottom and stay put but the carpets have to be the one who decides where to stay! Stubburn! As long as I keep feed them they all seem very happy.

Nice Tank! I am in the process of making the switch myself. I have a SPS dominated tank right now. Have your clowns started spawning yet? Mine do about every ten days like clockwork between the hours of 4-6pm.
