Anemone feeding ??

I thought you might enjoy this. I was having a discussion with another anemone person . The topic was feeding / eating. I stated they were opportunist and will eat what they grab , or we feed them /clown fish host feed them with the food they catch . The other gentleman stated that after the clowns digest there food they excrete / poop by the anemone's mouth's to feed them . Has anyone else heard of this. I have not witnessed this.

There is speculation by some scientists that clownfish waste may provide nutrients for the anemone as mentioned in quite a few articles on the web. However, I haven't seen any specific references to that so I am not sure where that idea is coming from.

I do remember reading about a study that the constant moving and fanning by the clownfish increases oxygen usage by anemones considerably. Perhaps this oxygen usage implies an increased usage of available nutrients, i.e. fish waste but I am just speculating here.
