Hello, I plan to make a 3-10 gallon nano reef and would love to have an anemone that would thrive in it. I don't want something will be more than 50-60 dollars as this is my first reef and I don't want to risk anything that is super-expensive.
Thanks.

mini carpet would be an even better bet...as they seldom get bigger then 5"....i now have two in my 20 since the once i had split..

my carpet was free...as it was a hitch hiker on a wild zoa colony i bought...but generally the range from 20-50 depending on the colour and type..

S. tapetum, the mini carpet, is available in a type that maxes out <2".

Can search for tulip anemones on this site to find an interesting majano type as well.

I don't know if this is it's full name but my local lfs has a Haitian Anemone for sale and I was wondering if those wold be suitable for a nano.

Haitian are Condylactis species, IME they will take over much of the small in 10gal. Much depends on your ultimate goal.

If you are looking for a Carib biotope, flower/rock anemone's, porcelain crabs, and anemone shrimp are a pretty neat mix.

Haitian is a good beginner anemone and that would be a nice choice I think, or as others have said, a flower anemone (also a good beginner species from what I understand).

Thanks guys, I've changed my mind about tank size, I can get a 24 gal nano cube for the same price as a smaller tank with upgrades.
