Anemone/Frogspawn/Torch

I am a newbie so take it easy on me. I am wanting to get two clowns next week, but dont know which I should get above. Does it matter to the clown fish? I like them all, but dont know what to do, or how to decide. Can you help?

A couple of questions..What type of lighting do you have? How old is the tank?

A 24G tank is a bit small for an anemone it would eventually outgrow the tank. I would go with a branching frogspwan, or branching hammer coral if I were you. The branching ones are easier to frag if it should start to outgrow the tank. I think the torch corals are a litlle more delicate.

Good luck!!!!

My lights are 32W whites an blue, standard on the Aquapod24. The tank is newly cycled tank. Two weeks. Just put in my first clean up crew today, and they are doing great. I am keeping up on my tests, and am staying in touch with my LFS on whats next, but I dont know when I will get my fish or anemone/frogspawn/torch. I am waiting patiently for that. I just want to know if there is a difference between the three when it comes to clowns.

I would definatley stay away from the anemone. They generally require alot of light. I'll stick with my original suggestion a branching frogspwan, or hammer. The clowns will host in those just the same as an anemone. What type of clowns are you getting?

I would go with the perculas. Maroons get big, and are very aggresive. Perculas will also be easier on whatever they're hosting.

I just meant that I think the frogspawn, and hammer corals are little hardier. To be honest, a Torch coral should be fine if that is what you wanted. I would get your clowns first, then make sure they dont effect the water parameters too much, then I would add whichever coral you choose. Right now I have a small Torch frag, and my male clown likes to hang out in it sometimes.

Something else you might want to consider is a long tentacle plate coral. They look alot like an anemone.
