Anemone growth?

I just bought a couple live rocks and droped them in the tank (already cured). I came back after a couple hours to find I have an anemone that I'm guessing was attached to a rock. It is very small, the base is only about the size of a dime. I was wondering how fast they grow, if it lives?

Chances are it is a pest anemone like an aptasia or mojano. They will grow very fast and the big problem is that they will divide and multiply out of control. I would recomend getting an ID ASAP. Unfortunately the pests are generally the only ones who would survive a cycle.

I don't know enough to ID it, but here is a picture of it. Can anyone ID it for me?

Good news: None of the above :)
bad news: I have no idea what it is  but it is probably a coral, not an anemone.

that is anthelia.. if you keep it near or on rocks it will cover the entire rock fairly quickly.. i keep mine on the sand, this way it is very easy to frag and is removable and not becoming a pest on my rockwork..
