Anemone ID + General Health.

Hey,

Looking for some input on this anemone, never seen a striped one, was thinking of buying it for my 600L. I'm assuming Haddoni?

I see the mouth is open a bit, but it is currently in a marine shop. Colour looks good, right?

It is an S. Haddoni. Don't like that the mouth is open -- though it could be stress from being in a bare-bottom tank -- Haddonis are sand dwelling.

I had one similar to that one for a while, sold it to a fellow reefer when I got my red one.

I have been keeping S. Haddonis for 12+ years and currently have 4 of them. Over all that time I have lost 4 fish to them. Giving the average track record, that is really good.

Little worried my Starry Blenny or Scarlet Hawkfish may try perching on it is all.

I would be concerned about them too. Though my golden lawnmower blenny has avoided my for 3 years now.

Do you know how long the anemone has been at the LFS?

If possible, I would put down a (( refundable )) deposit, and see how it looks in a week -- shipping is hard on Haddonis, and with the mouth still open, I would be a bit worried.

Should be fine if you have good bulbs and reflectors. Need more specs
