Got this gorgeous little nem from a buddy who was shutting down his tank, but he didn't know what the name of this nem was. Im not having much luck researching myself, so figured I might as well post here. Also if you know what it is, can you let me know what I should be feeding. I've tried target feeding mysis, but it doesn't take it.

Thanks

Hmmm, looks like a fading dye job. 6pm tentacles a bit of yellow remains. Same area, a bit of brown/purple tip. Rough column.

If it is a hosting species, I'd say H. crispa. Lack of eating, would support a prior dyed specimen, in decline(starving), etc. You won't find many representative pictures of a specimen in the same condition. I would try providing the anemone a choice of shaded lighting and higher light intensity. The anemone should move to a prefered location, likely lower intensity since it appears bleached. If it is rejecting shrimp based meals, possibly try small pieces of fish(silversides, lancefish, etc) cut down to 1cm size.

There is a chance it is not a hosting species at all and in that case, I have no idea.

Best of luck.

Thanks Scott...

It has moved itself just below a small overhang on a rock lower down in the tank, it actually moved there quickly after getting it home the first day (2weeks now). The pic doesn't show the tentacle color very well, as in person they aren't quite at white, light shade of yellow..

The light shade of yellow in indicative of a dyed specimen with the dye fading. Almost guarantees the anemone is H. crispa. Frequently sold as a "colored sebae" anemone.

Natural coloration is most likely brown.

They can recover if provided stable water conditions, and they start eating again.

Some cruddy pictures of a similar specimen, same species:
