Hello,
I recently got this at my LFS, it was on a peice of caulerpa and i got it for free because they thought it was a majano... i am 99.999999% positive it isnt majano.. looks to me somewhat like a coldwater anemone... anyway here are some pictures of it:

Josh: that looks like aptasia to me. I would advice you research aptasia & if you agree that's what it is, get rid of it. Those things multiply & become hard to overcome. Best to nip it in the bud while you can.

I am not 100% on it but it looks like a form of majano. I have some that are green with beautiful pink tips, and although a from of majano, I am keeping them. Not aptasia for sure, IMO.

this honestly doesnt seem like any type of majano i have ever seen/heard of..
i have heard of green, white, brown, and green w/ pink tips
but NEVER EVER EVER an orange and black one...plus majano's alot of the time have different 'tenticles' then this anemone

Definately not mejano or aiptasia. You know where the crab came from? A lot of these crabs are sold with the anemones on them.

i got the anemone on a peice of caulerpa, then it came off very easily so i placed it on a shell. My scarlet hermit decided this shell was the PERFECT new home.. i have been working on getting him into a new shell, but he likes this one...
