Anemone Id's

I saw this little guy cruising in my tank a few nights ago and just got a chance to snap some pictures of it, Must have hitched in quite a while ago as I haven't added anything in 6 months. He has been moving downward in my tank in the last 2 days. It has a large convex red-brown and white disc with small white feathery tentacles. Any ideas what it is?

here are some crops to show some more detail of the tentacles

Another hitchhiker I have had for about 18 months is this anemone, This guy has a green mouth, a purple oral disc and green tentacles with pink tips. Rarely when you can see his foot it is purple with streaks of flourescent green. I was thinking it could be a juvenile Anemonia viridis for the colouring but the tentacles are much too short. It could also just be a juvenile Heteractis crispa, I haven't personally seen any this small, 2.5" across the oral disc.

The first one looks like it has a hard, cone-shaped center, leading me to believe it isn't an anemone. The second is a type of pest called a tulip anemone.

The center doesn't seem to be hard, it deforms when it moves into and over crevases.

Manjano anemone or is there another species that goes by this common name? I didn't think manjanos got over an inch across the oral disc, this one's between 2 and 3 inches.

The first one looks like a keyhole limpet.

Second looks like and is described as a majano...that would be my guess

no way the second is a mojano......no chance, no way, i refuse to believe it!! i'm with the op thinking it kinda looks "crispa-y". it certainly appears identical to the hundreds of "sebae's" that come through our lfss. i worry sometimes about the things that potentially get killed in our reef as we're always so quick to want rid of "pest anemone's"!
i really hope it's a crispa and i really hope it is saved from the "mojano" tarring and feathering!!

A majano is different from a tulip anemone. They get a bit larger and don't split quite as often. However, 2 inches is a bit large even for them. Just look up google images of "tulip anemone" and see if it matches. I can't think of any anemones that look exactly like them.

If nothing else, nothing good for your tank will split under 6 inches in size. If it splits before it hits 6 inches I'd watch it. Although, if you like it, just keep it regardless. I kept majanos and tulip anemones for a while and just killed the ones that got out of hand.

I am with Bradley,The first one looks like a keyhole limphet, and anemone is a tulip anemone. These will spread like crazy.

I suggest you watch the anemone and, as suggested, if it starts to divide and become a problem at that point you can get rid of it. There are many species of anemone that potentially could come in as hitchhikers. I don't think you have a small crispa based on your description of its foot.

I was apparently wrong about the first one not being hard, i poke it with a stick... it seems it is a limpet, whether it is a keyhole limpet is still up in the air but it appears similar to the one posted on Melevs reef.

The second one is definately not a manjano as for a tulip anemone, I could find only one image that resembles it. The search has a lot of bouquets as both tulips and anemones are type of flowers.

I am hoping this is the case so I'll let it do its' thing. I'm also hesitant to kill anything that shows up in my tank because my live rock has been awsome so far in what randomly grows out of it like these scolleyish guys and the zoas around them.

Nice hitchhikers! The "scolleyish" one looks to be an acan. When the tentacles are out like that, you can feed it small food, like mysis or brine shrimp. For good healthy growth, you should do that once or twice a week IMO.

Maybe this will help on the ID:

The color intensity will be different in each tank due to lighting and water quality, but you get the idea.

I have seen the google results for tulip anemone, the first 2 posted don't appear to have a similar mouth, mine has a very oval opening about 3/4 of an inch long. The third picture is very similar to manjanos I have seen in the past. The third is definitely a possibility as the colouring and number of tentacles is close, unfortunately there is no information to go along with the image other than tulip anemone for sale.
