Hey guys,
I have had a large RBTA anemone in my tank for about 5-6 weeks now. The tank is about 4 months old, but most of the water and all of the rock came from my old setup that was up for two years. The tank is full of coraline and matured in my opinion, Anyways, It settled quickly and has is always open taking in the light.
Today, I got home in work to find my top off pump not working and there are some micro bubbles in the water column. Fish didnt seem to be stressed, some corals were closed, but the anemone was my concern. It has two tenticles that appear to be shriveled at the base, one fell off a few minutes ago. Whenever I fed the fish(Rods food because they are spoiled lol), I would do it with the pumps off so that some would settle in the tentacles.
Well, about an hour I decided to feed him something more meaty, something I probably should of been doing all along. I had some fresh shrimp in the freezer, unseasoned and raw of course. I soaked it in some garlic and he devoured it like a fat kid loves cake. While I know they are slow metabolistic animals, anyone know if he has just been starving this whole time? Have I possibly caused fatal damage? Advice is appreciated. Thanks!
