anemone pc lighting?

the tank is down a cool basement so heat may not be an issue.
so if i get one pendant and put it above the anemone he will know to stay in the better lighting?

well my bubble tip arrived this morning. i hope it looks ok, i thought it looked more like a haitian, it was sold as a brown bta but its white with pink tips.
it stayed out on the rock for awhile but now it slowly moved to the side of the rock, sheltered from the light.
is this normal behavior?
heres a few pics, i got it from live aquaria, they forgot to ship it with a heating pack, the bagged water was a bit chilly. when i opened the bag it was limp. it did perk up right away in the tank however.

Hmm, pics are a little blurry but I swear that looks like a Sebae of the Heteractis crispa species.

Sad that a company as large as Live Aquaria makes mistakes like this. Not enough people in the industry have any clue what the different species looks like...

Anyway, looks good and looks like he's settling in well. It is normal for them to find a spot that is suitable to their needs. Often times they come out of that dark box and have a temporary extra sensitivity to light. So they can sometimes tuck away for a little while.

150 would have been good :(

so whats up with my anemone, its not a bubble tip is it?
dang, should i show them the pics?? maybe its a bubble that lost its bubbles??
the foot is dark red, like maroon or burgundy color, does this help any in the id?

well I am no expert about anemone identification but from you pics and the foot description it sounds like it may not be a bubble-tip

on live aquaria, I found this description for the Haiti condy:

"It has a red column with long, tapering, pink-tipped tentacles. The tentacles may occasionally develop a bubble-like appearance. Generally it likes to bury the base in the sand or into the crevice of a rock for protection."

You might want to contact LA and send a photo. On a personal note, the lack of heating disturbs me because I have had this problem twice before. While I do not believe that the Virginia winters are as harsh as Wisconsin, my old haunt still received a good amount of snow...
Anyways, contact LA and see if they will send you a BTA, I personally would keep the other anemone since it is unlikely that it will survive the reshipping process.

goodluck

Thats a Green bubble tip anemone, it is bleached and will need some TLC to get it healthy.

i suggest trying to feed it 2 or 3 times a week until it starts to darken up and regain its symbiotic algae.
good luck.

I didn't really give the anemone a good look. Yes it is a BTA. It is bleached though so try and feed it small feedings of fresh shrimp and fish every other day or so. Keep up with your routinely water changes and it should eventually perk back to life.

my orange/brown bta looked very similar when i got it and with some food, light and time it got better.
