Just a quick pic of one of my Rose Tip Bubble Anemone, no Macro, just a 50 year old Canon Lens.

Thank you for the comments.

Yes lens typically mean more then the body (expecially with film) and most digitals will see a difference with high quality lenses.

I have had some comments saying that my anemone looks washed out. I have two, from a split, and they have always been this color, but the base and mouth are white.

The pic is a bit whiter then reality.

What are your thoughts?

Bob

4x48" T5's and 2x48" TruLumen Pro LED's on a 60" 110 gallon. T5's are about 9 months and due for a change but I am planning to change light soon.

are you sure its bleached? Ive kept one that was 12"+ similar to that coloring for over 5 years, it looked healthy and was splitting every other month. Maybe I bought it bleached?

Nice pic!

here's a offspring of the one I had, when the bubble tips retracts, it look exactly like the one in your pic. only white and pink. I had over 20 offsprings in the 5 years and they all look the same...

the red one is not the mother, just a rbta

I am certain bobs bta is bleached. Just because a bta splits does not mean its healthy. There are pink btas out there(such as dream54ing). Indicators For a bleached anemone; tentacle count, overall size, lack of zooxenthellae/ transparent tentacles.

I have a few of those that were Red and went to Hot Pink from when my chiller went out in my redsea max last year and my tank was destroyed. My RBTA are one of the few things that lived.

Most of them are still super pink, but one of them that is starting to grow out, is changing slightly, but not much.

Sad what happened to them, but they are beautiful with the new hot pink color.

very nice...sad, but beautiful...
I wonder if I stress myself enough, I will also become as beautiful :D

I have already tried that! I definitely got a few more looks coming my way, but no additional phone numbers. Overall, I don't think it worked out:beer:

Beautiful picture! I've had an anenome just like that for over a year. I find it hard to believe these are bleached red anenomes since mine has been healthy and pink for so long.
