ok my 24g has been set up for 2 months. i know anemones need perfect water quality and pretty good lighting. Right now i have the 96w powerquad over the 24. Would an RBTA do ok under this or would i need MH lighting? how long should i wait before adding the anemone?my tank is pretty much stocked up, but i have 2 decent sized spaces left and would like to add one, i also think it would be cool to watch a clown host in it. Ive had clowns before, but i think the anemone relationship would be awesome to see this time around.

I think the aquapod is pretty deep for 96w pc with a RBTA. If you get him up near the top it might be ok. As for waiting you are really not nearly cycled and stable enough for an anemone. Even if you never see ammonia or nitrites on the test there are almost certainly a lot of changes in the water still happening. It takes some time for the bacteria colonies to properly modulate their populations. There are probably still a lot of "things" dying or just dead and just getting bacteria to them in your LR

im going to upgrde to a 150w MH fixture in a few months. i'll probably add it after 6 months and if my corals are still thriving.

Very good choice you have made^. You will have a lot more success if you are patient in this hobby, which i am aware you probably know that already. Good luck and keep us updated.

I think the time it more important than the light. The lights are marginal but not too bad. My wife has a BTA in her 10G AGA with a 96w PC fixture.

Also, that's a fairly small tank to introduce a BTA into with other corals you may be moving a lot of frags around to keep them out of the anemone's way while he settles in.
