Anemone Question

Can you keep a Mini Max Anemone and a Rock Flower Anemone together?

If they touch will either of them cause harm?

Hey luckynano! I would love to help you, but to be honest I don't know much about those particular anemones.

I would think you can keep them together, but there is always a chance of negative allelopathy.

As far as them touching, just try and see how they react. Also, it seems that knowbody knows, so please keep us updated with your observations!

Most of us here keep host anemone. I have some MaxiMini but no rock anemones

I will you posted, on another forum a fellow reefer said they keep both these kinds together and they don't bother each other at all. Usually one will move way if not happy there but for the most part they are fine together and don't seem to sting one another either so that part is good. But I will keep you posted.

Will haddoni not sting maxi mini? I just moved my maxi mini, because the haddoni came very close and was afraid that it will sting.

If your asking me I have no idea, they say that an anemone will move if it does not like where it is or other anemones bother it but I am not 100% sure about that.

Yes lucky, those species are fine together. I have several rock anemones and several maxi-minis in the same tank, no problems.

I've kept a maxi-mini and a rockflower in the same tank, too. Didn't seem to be a problem, though the maxi-mini went cruising up a rock and demolished my cabbage leather. NOt sure if it was reacting to the rock flower, or just being a nem...

They can have quite the character from what I have been reading about anemones. Some of the larger ones can sure cause issues in some tank.

So far so good, I did get another Mini Max but not crazy about the color now that I have it.. I love my first Mini Max color is so nice and the Rock Flower is even better, love these guys.

They are a lot of fun to feed as well, just fed my 3 and they just love it.
