I put an anemone in brought home an anemone in my tank yesterday. He moved all over the place. The lights went out at night time. Lights have been on for a couple of hours. He is starting to shrivel. He does not look as good as yesterday. I am not sure this is good. Is it normal for this to happen? It is an LT Anemone. My clown has not bedded with him. Can anyone help?

The orange piece is its foot. Your anemone is an LTA (( Macrodactyla doreensis )). The foot should be buried in the sandbed.

Did you try digging a hole for it?

How deep is your sand bed?

What lights do you have?

Current water parameters -- with numbers.

well... Sand bed is between 2 and 3 inches, depending on where my clown has dug holes. I will try digging the hole. How deep should the hole be? I have 1 175w halide. I will check water parameters.

dig a hole deep enough for the anemone's foot to be covered (the redish pinkish part). Lighting should be enough assuming that you have a 30 gallon tank that you have listed

Do you know what lights it was under before you got it? You might have to acclimate it to your lights -- I prefer to use window screening, most of the time I use 3 layers and remove a layer each week.
