Anemone throws up food???

Hello, I just purchased a sand anemone and after acclimating it I fed it two 1/4" cubes of uncooked table shrimp. About four hours later the two balls of table shrimp (still whole) came out of its mouth. Is this normal? Am I feeding the anemone something it doesn't like or doesn't eat? Or is it because they can't digest large pieces of shrimp?

Thank you for your help, I'm getting a little worried. This is my first anemone so I really don't know what I'm doing. :D

I don't have great luck with table shrimp as a diet for most anemones, especially smaller specimens like sand anemones.

I have better luck with soft bodied fish, i.e. lancefish and silversides cut to portion, mysis, and even some of the cubed foods like Formula VHP.

Regardless, try a variety, each anemone is different and will have preferences.

Good luck.

My rbta doesn't like shimps either, it spits it out. I have success feeding it silversides and frozen krill(Hikari cubes).

Thank you. :) What is Formula VHP? Is that frozen formula 1 or 2?
Same company, but Formula VHP is the Very High Protein flavor :)

Some anemones like it, some don't.
