Anemone war: M. doreensis vs. S. gigantea

I had my Red M. doreensis in my refugium for the last several months. He is healthy, stay right next to my Blue S. haddoni without problem. In my system also have H. magnifica, H. malu, S. gigantea and a variety of S. tapetum. Anyway, yesterday I decided to more him into my DT. Got a space just for him and plug him there. He dug in really quickly and settle for the night. This AM he expanded larger than last night. His neighbor, a S. gigantea, also expended larger (20+ inches) and they touched. I took a few picture which show several of the tentacles of the two anemones tangles and stick to each other. The majorities of the tentacles touching each other and did not show any interaction.
IMO, this is evidence that they are in a slight skirmish. Does not seem like an all out war, but the tentacles sticking together may be sign of bad news. There are damages to the tips of the Doreensis, but this is due to the move, not because stings from the Gigantea.
I will have to follow closely and separate them if needed. Right now I decided to observe and see.
Will keep everybody update regularly.

When corals fight they fight to death because they can't move. It'd be interesting to see what happens here. Does one move away or do they continue to fight.

I had similar situation abotu 4 years ago. It was between a H. malu and Gigantea/Haddoni hybrid. I put a tile between them and that solved the problem but did not look great.
