anemone ???

I have a question... I have this anemone and at night time the thing look amazing under my moon lightning but during the day it shrinks, then opens and just doesnt seem happy I have had it for about 2 weeks now heres a picture of it and ideas??? The mouth of it is open real wide but then at night time its fine

All my LFS said was its a LTA and sold it to me for 25 bucks

well someone from the clown anemone fourm said it was bleached?? (dont know what that means). he said feed it acouple times a week but what do I feed it and what can I do to help this thing out

i fed my nem silversides and cocktail shrimp... i always fed once or twice a week and most nems will grow faster if they are fed often like that... if it shrinks in the daytime it may be getting picked on by something... most of the time if light or flow is the issue, the nem will move to a new place untill it finds a place it likes... seeing its mouth like that, id say it needs food... try that...

I feed my BTA large krill twice a week and I would say it hungry also try not to over feed and to much light will also make it shrink give it time to adapt to your tank two weeks is still early

Im going to cut my lighting cycle down a little bit and feed the thing. at night tho the thing is ready and nice and open

+1 on ariffle11 and paolellawp cmments. The anemone appears to be bleached, so I would feed 2X per week until it starts to color up. You can feed 1/3 to 1 silverside twice weekly, or krill, or whatever. Once anemone has zooxanthellae algae growing in its tissues you can allow the algae to feed the anemone. Let the anemone pick its own place to set up house. LTAs generally like to have their feet in the sand at the base of a rock in my experience.

i also feed mine silversides in addition my clown feeds it during feeding time and from time to time i just take a large pinch of mysid and use my finger to feed him those if you over feed it you will know as it will deflate for a day or so good luck

I just picked up some krills from the store he seems kind of weak I had to place them right in it's mouth but he took 2 down already... Might feed him a thrid and hold off feeding till tues? Don't want to feed him too much but the krills are small

Thats good he took them down! feed little at a time at first then work your way up you'll start to notice with in a week. if small krill and it's that weak try one little one every other day then once you see it eating better give it two krill and you should be good. once it gets better and you can feed regular and little krill is all gone step up a size and twice a week, that will get it big and healthy. once big enough you can lower the feeding and it should feed on photosynthesis or of waste from a hosting clown.
