Anemone ??

Guys,
Could someone please tell me what sort of anemone I have? I purchased it for the ocellarus clowns about 3-4 weeks ago but they refuse to go near it. Is it the wrong type for them or is it something else?

Thanks
Neil

The clowns we get now days are morons. They are all captive bred, and raised. They don't know what an anemone is anymore. Give it time, they will find it eventually. Or they will do like mine, and decide to host in an elegance coral.

Yeah, I have 3 anemones in my tank and my fish host my Duncan. They will host what they want when they want. I would like to see the anemone if you can post a photo that way we can tell you what it is.

Picture of the anemone would help.

Being tank raised has nothing to do with it --- clowns being hosted is not a learned behavior, but an instinctual one.

The biggest issues is that most TR clowns are either A. ocellairs or A. percula, and they are usually paired with an E. quadricolor which is not a natural host anemone for those clowns.

Years ago I picked up a pair of TR A. polymnus clowns. Released them into a tank with an S. haddoni (( natural host anemone )) and they were hosted within seconds of being released.

Sorry guys have now attached a photo. Was having dramas on my iphone uploading the pic.

Thanks
Neil

My clowns wont go near my nems, I got a RBTA, LTA, and a carpet in my 125g and my clowns are hosting my mushrooms. They wander around my 125g which surprises me since they just stayed at 1 end but now they go everywhere. It just takes time.

I would say it looks like a Sebae. And just for the record, clowns don't host anything....anemones host clowns or corals host clowns...the clowns are the guests.
