Anemones

Has anyone had problems with their Anemone wanting to move around the tank and sting corals?

What is a good type of anemone for a 175 bowfront that will keep its place?

Is there even such a thing?

I am looking at adding an anemone to my tank and want to see what is best for my tank.

Thanks.

My anemone is on the move in my tank (just got him) and I've had to watch my tank nonstop because it's trying to walk all over the coral. The lfs said it can kill coral so I watch the tank to move anything if I have to. Im not sure what else to do. I know that's not an option for most people so idk what else you could do to keep the coral from being stung.

All anemones will likely move when they are first added. Especially if they don't like where you set them. A sand anemone will tend to stay down in the sand. Try a LTA or carpet anemone. Look up M. Doreensis or S. Haddoni for reference.

If you can deal with one moving for a few days I would recommend H. Crispa, S. Tapetum, or Epicystis Crucifer for the least moving.

I made sure my Nem was one of the first things I added when the time was right. The only thing I had to move was a small pice of candy canes, but it has not moved in 3 weeks since I got it.
