Some people don't type like they think. I don't think redvipe was trying to be mean. His info is usually right on.
To begin, we would ned to know what kind of anemone you got, a Long tenticled, bubble tip, etc.. long tenticles nems like the sand and won't go to the rocks, while the bubble tips like the rocks and won't go to the sand. See, it makes a difference what type you bought.
As for lights, nems need very intense lights. For example, my Atlantic carpet nem is mounted as high on the rocks as possible and stretches for light. I have 250w metal halides. My bubble tip is about halfway up the rock and goes in and out of a cave to regulate his light absorption. Needs between the two are different.
As for research, you should research before the purchase and try not to chase yourself after the fact. This for future advice. I, as have many, have done the same thing. Buy, then pay the price. We all make mistakes and learn from them.
Long story short; find out what you have, tell us about the equipment you have on the tank and we can help at that point. The more infor the better.
Hope this helps some. Oh, and you can generally only believe half of what your LFS tells you. They are there to sell and make a living without a lot of regards to the livestock in some cases.
