My large anenome hermit crab died I now have his empty shell with three anenomes attatched to it.My question is can the anenomes be attatched somehow to a different shell? None of my other hermits want his shell I guess cuz its too big for them.Anybody ever have this problem?

I have collected lots of anemone hermits, and the largest one always takes all the anemones from the smaller hermits if kept together. Also when they move to new shells they take the anemones as well. As long as you have another anemone hermit they will be moved, if you don't have the right hermit crab sp the anemones will live, put them in a place with some flow and md to low light and make sure they get fed. In my experience the crabs are nocternal so the anemones are not photosynthetic.

Thanks for reply!Since I only had one anenome hermit crab I'll be shopping for another.I spot fed the anenomes and they seem to be doing well and are patientely waiting for another host.
