Anenome Question 2

Hi there

I have a relatively new tank. It is a 2 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot "cube". It is a bigger tank than the small nano tank I have had in the past.

The old tank was sold to me by a fish shop and I have little doubt was given poor advice and after 12 months of diligent care and from advice from other shops realised I had several large problems which were better sorted out with a new tank with all the bells and whistles. One of the major problems with the old tank was lighting. As a result a bubble anenome I had with a foot that was about 2 to 3cm has now shrunk considerably and would have a foot of about 1/2cm. It always seems shrunk down with no tenticles showing.

This anemone is now in a new tank and has attached itself about half way up and at the front of my reef on the point of a ledge. The area probably has the most light and water flow (maybe too much water flow) of anywhere in the tank. It is still shrunk down. What is the best way to get this anemone back to the way it was?

Feed it. Very small pieces - mysis, tiny (like the size of a pencil eraser or smaller) pieces of squid, shrimp, or other meaty stuff. If the anemone's tentacles have shrunk down to nubs, it may be starving. It can be touch and go by the time it gets that bad, but I understand it can be done.
