Is it out of the powerhead now? A picture would help in seeing how bad the damage is. Is just the oral disc damaged?
From what you described, it doesn't sound too bad, and as long as you keep your water parameters in check, and found out why it moved, it should make a full recovery. But, like I said above, seeing a picture of it will go a long way to determining its future. Also, what type of "carpet" is it? And how long have you had it?
