Anenome substitutes for nano clowns

Hi guys, i was wondering what viable options i have when it comes to finding a coral for a 24g tank that a clown may host in. My LFS say a toadstool would get to large and so does a torch, ideally id like something with long polyps to get as close to the look of an anenome.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Mine LOVE my frogspawn...it took a few months for my first clown to host, but now she only leaves it to eat. :)

What about a long tentacle plate? Or you could always frag the one you have (or will get) when it gets too large.

I have a 24g aquapod. I have frogspawn, hammer, GSP, neon green toadstool, huge hairy shroom... and a bunch of zoas/shrooms/xenia).

My clown hosts my neon green toadstool, if it's closed up she moves to the big hairy shroom, and once in awhile she spends the day in the GSP.

I also have a clown pair in my 50g, they don't host anything.

Clowns are strange little fish, their decision to host seems very erradic they are known to host all sorts of different corals or strange objects (someone's on here hosts the algae clip), or nothing at all... so just get corals you like the looks of since you never know if your clown will host anyways.

FWIW I have a nice large frogspawn (for about 1.5 months) and my clown hasn't even looked at the thing. Don't ever assume it'll work for sure. Who knows, maybe I'll wake up one day to see a hosting clown.. But I'm not so optimistic.

My pair host in a couple pink fuzzy mushrooms. Tenticles are not that long, half inch maybe, but its better than an anenome imo. I also have a single head of frogspawn and they don't care about the frogspawn.

Bad thing is the fuzzy mushrooms have gotten pretty big and have begun to sting and kill my ricordias. I can't get in there to do anything with the fuzzy as the clowns attack me. Might have to do a late night sneak attack to do a bit of moving around?

My clown host a rock that has about 5 xenias around it. At night she looks funny with fat and short xenia's.

my clowns host everything in the tank, open brain coral, bubble coral, red mushrooms, feather duster, pom pom xenia and etc. i guess they like them all.

Do you guys have percula's? I'm worried that my occelaris clowns wont host, and i really want clowns that will host. :(

I have percs that host in my Scolymia. We also have some at work the host hammer corals and frogspawns. IME they havent been very picky. Give them time and they will host somthing in the tank.

HTH

Here is a picture of my 2 black and white percula clown, one is hosting a bubble coral and the other one is hosting a open brain coral.
