So today i was looking flr my fire angel and i couldnt find him so i did some hunting and he was stuck behind a rock against the tank wall so i removed a couple rocks to loosed him, but he wasnt actually stuck just floating upside down at a 45 degree angle bellyup....i gently nudged him and he swam a little akwardly- upright at first and slowly transitioning to vertical....then he swam into a secluded corner and slowly flipped vertically where he is sitting right now...he also swims upward to maintain position, but whats wrong?? I had water checked (few days ago) and everything is ideal with nitrate a tiny bit over 0 but nothing to worry. None of the other fish seem troubled or hurt....and didn't fight they even swam around together.

How long have you had the fish for. Did you QT the fish because it could be internal parasites. In the condition that he is in he would be very lucky to survive but try to catch him and put him in a QT to try and treat him.
Good luck

Are you talking about a flame angel? Not sure why, but many people have trouble with flame angels...might have to do with collection area or methods

I tried qt but he died overnight :(

I think its a infected swinbladder like some others were saying...it was at a fellow reefers house for some time but he saw one white dot on the top and didnt like the imperfection so he gave it to me and it died after a week....went from perfectly happy and swimming everywhere to floating around upside down with very little control

The white dot wasn't a imperfection, it was a clear and early sign of disease. If that is the guys logic then it sounds like he will be getting rid of all of his fish very soon because of "imperfections"
