Angel for 100 gallon

What would be a beautiful, reasonably sized angel(not a french or queen, after all it is 100 gallons) that would accept most foods like mysis shrimp and other frozen foods. I have a 9w uv sterilizer, eshopps wet dry filter, and eshopps in sump skimmer.

I was looking at 3 angels: a bluespotted, flame, and lemon peel angel. Would any of these fit the description above?

What are the dimensions of your 100g tank? Determining the proper tank size for a certain fish has more to do with the tank dimensions rather than total water volume.

Depends on tankmates, stocking density, and long term expectation.

If realtively lightly stocked, with nothing to "mean" then a small navarchus would be a nice medium term choice. It would eventually outgrow the tank, but would do so slowly. Once it reached about 5-6" is would be maxed out and would need something closer to a 150-180. But in the interm (2-3 years min) you would have the pleasure of watching a 2" (say) juv. growing into a beautiful adult...... a great experience, and something to be "proud" of.

For a 48" tank, I think dwarf angels will be a better choice. Small "large angels" can probably be kept also, such as cream or singapore. Bluespotted should be ok too, though I've heard it's not an easy species to keep.

Matt, I do not agree that Navarchus is appropriate for a 48" tank, even for small ones. In addition, small navarchus (juvenile coloration) are known to have difficulty acclimating to captivity. I have a 5" one in my 225G and I can't imagine it being in anything less than a 60" long tank. Navarchus grows very slowly but over the years will reach 8" in the proper environment. I think a 72"x18" 125g (or better yet a 180g) is the minimum for him to live the entire life.

i have a flame angel. Never bothered any corals. He messes with the yellow tang sometimes but nothing serious. Gets along fine with everyone.

Flame angel might bother my a little more passive fish, like to be butterflyfish trio(i only have one now). Also i am looking at a navarchus or blue ring. There are just so many good angels!

Navarchus and blue ring (annularis) angels are both too big for your tank. they will both hit 8-10" adult-size and should be in at least a 6', 180g tank.
