Angels not eating

I once picked 2 Centropyge multifasciatus straight from a wholesaler and while they refused to eat any frozen food I offered, they were at least picking for pods on the rocks.
There is something seriously wrong with a fish that doesn't even look for its natural food.

I took a short video but this website is preventing its upload. It would be great for you to see. The flame is literally slowly swimming around in a wide circle near the top half of the tank while barely moving its fins. It is having what Bob Fenner would call a "private party". He said to avoid purchasing any fish like that in one of his books.

The good news is that the Potters is picking away at everything in the tank and even ate some frozen mysis today! The Potters and yellow tang came from their CA facility.and are doing well.

At least LA should either replace the flame angel, or give me a refund next week. This flame can't make it much longer. This experience has made me reluctant from ordering another DD fish. They are just too expensive if they are not eating.

Upload it on Youtube and use the "embedded code to post it here.

Here is a video how my Red Sea regal acts (it's the biggest of the 3 regals):

Wow. My flame acts the same, like it is drugged. Surprisingly, it still alive. It is going on 4 weeks and has not eaten anything! The Potters started eating frozen food yesterday, so I am very pleased. I'm calling LA and demanding a refund this week. This flame has to be on its last legs (fins, lol).

Anyone had experience with another vendor like Pet Solutions or Saltwaterfish.com?

I think you won't have more luck with other online vendors.
I only tried LA and BZ and fish quality wise it's a wash.
In general I prefer to select my fish in person. The only fish I order online are the ones the local stores hardly ever get.
The local stores are also usually cheaper. I just found a male and a female of Opistognathus rosenblatti for $85 ea. All online stores charge you between $120 and $130 and you can't check them out before you buy (just a picture doesn't count). Only downside with these two guys was that the female came with a good load of ich, so right now they go through a special form of TTM - with gravel and rocks in a cozy 2 gallon pet carrier.

I have had very good luck with Vividaquariums which a vendor on this forum. Out of 15 different fish, they have all came in eating the 1st day and has been very healthy.

Thanks for the input. The flame died last night. LA gave me a credit for half the price of the fish, and said that is the best they can do since I had it a month. The local stores around me usually get in diseased fish with no guarantee so that is why I buy online. Some of the vendors offer reduced or free shipping at times, so it isn't too bad.

Sorry for your loss. I have the same reasons for buying online vs. local shops. Overall, I've been pleased with LA/DD in terms of livestock quality. I've had a few fish that didn't make it, but those have been the exception and not the rule. It's possible the Flame Angel was collected using cyanide, even though the larger wholesalers try not to buy from collectors who use it.

Glad to hear the Potter's is doing well, though.

While not giving guarantee, I've had in general less losses with local stores.
Whenever I get a shipment from LA or BZ, something dies.
